This letter fragment recounts how the Koran was given to the Sheik of Sidon and then sold. Later it was given to honor a missionary who started a school for girls. She was from the family of Lord and Lady Ashley Montague, who was the Ambassador to the Court of the Ottoman Empire from Great Britain in the eighteenth century. This letter is in her hand.
