Conclusion
Some years ago, a prominent judge in
London celebrated Communion at the Anglican church of
which he was a member. As he went forward to the Communion
rail, he joined an ex-convict in receiving the bread
and wine. After the service, he remarked to the priest,
"Isn’t the grace of God amazing?"
A few moments later, the priest replied,
"You mean that a convicted criminal could join
you in celebrating Communion?"
The judge answered, "No. I was
thinking how amazing that by his grace, in spite of
all the privileges of rank and means and their temptation
to pride and self-sufficiency, I could join him in the
place of knowing my desperate need for the grace of
God."
Everyone needs the grace of God in
Jesus Christ. God’s fatherly love and grace are
good beyond our comprehension. They are yours for the
asking in Jesus Christ. Receive him with simple faith
and repentance.
